Two by Two They come together and I know I'll be the last one on Infinite pairs so the journey will be very long They come they go Two by two They dance together as we float around unconsciously The way they turn reminds me of another mystery They Come they go

My man is handsome My man is a fool Who keeps his love for ransom And treats himself so cruel After the cigarette You’ll hold me close to your chest After the cigarette Youll say babe I love your love the best My man is lonely My man thinks he should Keep himself lonely He knows he’s no good After the cigarette You’ll hold me close to your chest After the cigarette Youll say babe I love your love the best

Where did you go, Champion? Were you always going to fail? Where did you go, Champion? What made you turn against me, Champion? You let me believe you were my future. I think I understand love songs now.

Just kids In the backyard Playin’ outside With our pet dog Walk on down to The end of the street Mrs. Leslie in The driver seat Take the bus to The school All of us sit Three or two As the day begins We are picked up again Just as soon the start Just as soon the end We ride home To our dog To the backyard To our parents Just kids

Well ’69 has come and gone, the glow has long since dimmed Memorialized are reckless rides of tuning out and in Now the years have passed and you say its just a phase Of ignorant rebellious youth and hedonism slaves You say you’re open minded You talk political corruption, changing climate But this one little thing you can’t get behind it And who knows what you’d find We’ve got freedom of the heart but where’s our freedom of the mind? Well I’m a pretty straight-laced guy – I just bought a two-piece suit I wear my hair all nice and clean and I’ve been to college too So is the issue in the question? Really why do you care? I promise I won’t bother you or anyone anywhere You say you’re open minded So you studied at Yale, political science But this one little thing you can’t get behind it And who knows what you’d find We’ve got freedom of the heart… where’s our freedom of the mind? So light your hundredth cigarette, deep fried sugar glazed Go home at night to strobing lights and drink your life away And condemn those evil ones driving the Greyhound to your tomb The quiet ones who look within from the confines of their room You say you’re open minded You say you’ve got a god, tell me where’d you find it? Cause let me tell you something if you’d only try it Who knows what you’d find We’ve got freedom of the heart We’ve got freedom of the heart We’ve got freedom of the heart… but where’s our freedom of the mind?

Don't call pretty Peggy, she can't hear you no more Don't leave no message around her back door They say the old laughing lady been here before She don't keep time, she don't count score You can't have a cupboard if there ain't no wall You got to move, there's no time left to stall They say the old laughing lady dropped by to call And when she leaves, she leaves nothing at all See the drunkard of the village falling on the street Can't tell his ankles from the rest of his feet He loves his old laughing lady 'cause her taste is so sweet But his laughing lady's loving ain't the kind he can keep There's a fever on the freeway, blacks out the night There's a slippin' on the stairway just don't feel right And there's a rumbling in the bedroom and a flashing of light There's the old laughing lady, everything is all right

Get up get up get up It’s time for work You make some tea To start your day And contemplate Why you’re here The plants need watering Recycling’s piling The mail needs sorting At some point today You’re gonna need a nap Get up get up get up It’s time for work You make some tea To start your day And contemplate Why you’re here The plants need watering You try but you forget About energy And what all you have left Can you do it? Is there room To repel other’s feelings And remain empathetic At the same time Weirded out by how It kind of feels the same Any kind of change Is if you make an effort to

Oh me oh my oh, look at Miss Ohio She's a-running around with her rag-top down She says I want to do right but not right now Gonna drive to Atlanta and live out this fantasy Running around with the rag-top down Yeah I want to do right but not right now Had your arm around her shoulder, a regimental soldier An' mamma starts pushing that wedding gown Yeah you want to do right but not right now Oh me oh my oh, would ya look at Miss Ohio She's a-runnin' around with the rag-top down She says I want to do right but not right now I know all about it, so you don't have to shout it I'm gonna straighten it out somehow Yeah I want to do right but not right now Oh me oh my oh, look at Miss Ohio She a-runnin' around with her rag-top down She says I want to do right , but not right now Oh I want to do right but not right now

Well, it used to be I could go out drinking with the boys. We'd tear up the city and then ask for more. In the before times I had a date every night with a different girl. Oh, the eyes I'd make weep and the toes I'd make curl. We'd go outside and breathe in the fresh air and you could roll down the windows and drive for miles on the Natchez Trace Trail, but then the bombs started falling after all the generals went mad and now nobody is smiling and everything is sad. So it's shelter to shelter, finding food when we can. Living life as a nomad when I should already be dead. My friends they were lucky - were blown to bits in the blast and so they can't waltz here with me at the holocaust bash. They pour chemical goo from planes in the sky. The radio tells us it keeps the radiation from getting too high. Now I'm getting real - hungry my last meal was last week and my mind says don't go on Collin, good god, your body is too weak. All I really want is to pull the covers over my head and lie down with someone - a pretty girl in my bed. Instead, I am dealing with rations, sleeping on a bowling alley floor. They say help is finally coming, I don't believe them no more. So it's sirens and ashes, that float through the air. This is worse here than hell is. Why am I not already dead? My family was lucky, were blown to bits in the blast and so they cant waltz here with me at the holocaust bash.
